The goal setting videos will take us through each of the five steps to define big, hairy, amazing goals for 2015. Both for us personally, and for our ebay / Amazon FBA business. This video is based on Step #1: setting a specific vision for yourself. See my personal goals for the New Year!!
Personal Development 2015 Goal Setting
In this video Tracy will explain setting goals for your personal development. She displays a quote “The difference between who you are and who you want to be…. Is what you do.”
Tracy reviewed her goal list for 2014 and realized she accomplished many of the goals she had listed. Tracy talks about a Harvard case study that did a survey in 1979, they took of MBA students. They asked them if they set goals. 84% didn’t set goals, 13% set goals but didn’t write them down, only 3% set goals and wrote them down.
10 years later they got in touch with the MBA students found that the 13% group who had goals doubled their success compared to the 84% group that didn’t set goals. The 3% that set goals and wrote them down had more than 10x the success compared to both the 13% and 84% groups combined.
Tracy also talks about Oprah having what’s called “dream boards” or vision boards. It’s a board of goals you want to accomplish or things you want to achieve or acquire.
Tracy recommends a book called “Write It Down, Make It Happen Knowing what you want – and getting it!” by Henriette Anne Klauser
When making goals use the S.M.A.R.T. approach.
Specific
This is the fun part of the SMART goal system. This is when you want to visualize what it is that you want to achieve. This is where you dream of the things you want. Visualize your life and where you want to live, think of what excites you. Think BIG!!!
Measurable
This is where you ad measurable details so you know that you actually accomplished your goal. Set actual dates. Don’t limit yourself.
Attainable
This is what steps you are going to take to achieve final success. The goal could take a month, year, or five years it doesn’t matter. The goal is broken down in to bite size pieces that eventually lead to achieving it.
Relevant
This is the most important step. This is the “why” part of the goal. When crap hits the fan and hit road blocks during your course of achieving the goal. You have to have the “why are you going after this goal” to make it worth going through what you are going through to achieve it. This is what helps you stay on track to achieving it because you want it bad enough.
Timely
By when do you want to accomplish your goals? Put a date down you want to achieve the goal, tell people, and hold yourself accountable. This will help you see if you are on track to achieving the goal and reevaluate on a regular basis to see if you need to take on more to get the goal down. Give yourself an incentive if you achieve it on time, buy yourself a new outfit as an example.

Using these systems will make your goals extremely thorough and complete when visualizing your goals, put it down on paper!
