Go with my family and me on a day long journey getting inventory. A good reminder that the newspaper isn’t dead, garage sales are still a great profit, Facebook is the newest local tool, Craiglist can find you a gem, and thrift stores have a lot of new in the box for Amazon.
Entrepreneur Girl Tracy takes us with her to search for product to resell.
The first stop is taking a look at 200 Hotwheels, new in package that were listed in the paper for $100. Total spent on the newspaper finds was $100 and the expected net profit is $600.
They go to the Goodwill store on the Saturday that everything is 50% off. Tracy’s mission is to only look for product that is for Amazon FBA, so it is specifically new in packaging products. One of her examples that she finds is a Camelbak reservoir that was marked for $3.99 and was half off, so she picked it up for $2. This Camelbak reservoir sells for $24.79 on Amazon.
Total spent at Goodwill was $34.20 and the expected gross return is $240
Next stop is garage sales. Tracy bought 6 bags of books for $1.
Check out Facebook groups that are close to you. Some areas have groups that people post items they have for sale. Consider it a safer Craigslist, since group members begin to know each other.
The next place to check is Craigslist for items and products to resell. Check for listings of business that clearance their inventory, perhaps businesses are going out of business and will be liquidating their inventory and many times will put listings on Craigslist.
This Tracy’s Tuesday Tips video going on the journey proves you can go out on a Saturday with friends and family and shop many different sources for inventory. If your online business includes selling on eBay then there is no doubt you won’t have a hard time finding product to resell.
