Screen- o- matic (love it!)
Screen-o-matic is a FREE computer monitor recording program. I wanted to be able to make YouTube videos that would show my computer monitor screen and my webcam at the same time. I found this FREE program and it’s great!
How to record your computer screen
On this episode of Entrepreneur Girl’s Tracy’s Tuesdays Tips, Tracy shows how to set up Screen o matic.
Screencast O Matic program allows you to record your actions on a computer screen. There are many applications this could be used for and this is a great way for Tracy to demonstrate different online topics.
Screen-o-matic records the screen, your webcam so it shows you and records the sound when you are speaking during a demonstration. This program does allow you the option of recording just the screen or just your webcam or both. Depending on what you are using it for, you may not need to also record yourself during a recording.
There is a FREE version along with a paid version which is $15 per year and it comes with many more features compared to the free version. Think about how often you would use it at for what purposes. If you have a Youtube channel and produce videos then consider the paid version, especially since it would remove the Screen-o-matic branding that is normally on the free version.
When it comes to your business you may need a program like this to record your computer screen on how to do something and explain to someone else. Record it once and you will have it to play in the future when needed, upload it to Youtube or a different medium and you will have the link to share with the people that need to watch the video. It can be a time saver since you wouldn’t have to continually explain how to do a computer task, just refer the person to the video.
