Tracy uses the summer time to stock up on product to resell on eBay and Amazon. Summer Rocks for Tracy as she explains in this video.
Summer is a great time to reflect, it’s ½ way through the year. How am I doing with all the goals that were set in January? You need to ask yourself and reflect on improvements and actions you need to take to accomplish your goals.
What’s your opinion? There are things that sell better during the summer than any other time of year, just as there are those things that don’t sell well during other times of year. For example pool toys, camping gear, games for kids, things to keep kids occupied during the summer break from school. Kids must do something with their time off. Gardening items would also sell well during the spring and summer months as well. Travel gear, luggage other travel type items. Families take a summer vacation since the kids are out of school so there are many travelers during the summer months and they need the products to go with traveling.
Tracy’s personal preference to sell are educational items. Tracy home schools her kids and she resells the home school curriculum. Find a home school group in your area and look for the used curriculum, don’t purchase new. There are great “name brand” curriculum out there, know what they are and look for them. Tracy makes deals with people that are looking to sell a whole table of books. She’ll buy the whole table for $50 and turn around and sell it for $100’s. Tracy knows the people want to sell and get rid of it, unload it, the sellers don’t want to pack it up again and continue to deal with the books, they want it gone.
Other things that sell well are text books, educational books, games etc. What’s happening is parents are getting ready for next school year.
Think of always being one season ahead, just like the big box retail stores are. Think of how you go to a store in September and start seeing the Halloween products with the Christmas products knocking on the door to come in. They start moving in the Christmas product before Halloween is over, they just skip over Thanksgiving unless it’s a grocery store.
Always think ahead, you will need to obtain the product you are going to resell, process it, list it, ship it to Amazon FBA (if you are selling it there), the time needed for Amazon to receive and process your shipment and make available on the site. There are many steps and much time involved so that is why you need to think ahead of the game so your product will be relevant when the time is right for it.
Well, when you are thinking ahead of the game, then you should be looking for product to resell for Christmas Holiday season. In the Amazon selling world it’s Q4. Also known as 4th quarter, the last 3 months of the year, is the time that Amazon and eBay sellers make the most amount of money because of all the online holiday shopping that takes place. Majority of Amazon and eBay re-sellers make the most amount of money compared to any other time of year. So, at least get started in the summer time looking and sourcing for product sell during Q4, you will be happy that you did. Don’t be late to the game, this is the time to make bank.
