Now that you found some items around your house to list, we will go through the process of getting them online. We also discuss where to find information on requirements from both forums and a good place to find helpful Youtube videos.
Start off by browsing the seller center of eBay and get familiar with the features and rules etc.
Visit Amazon services page for seller. Learn the features of the seller’s accounts and forums.
Next you will go to YouTube and type in Amazon FBA in the search box. Under the filters tab select channel so you can find the actual Amazon FBA channel by Amazon, which is where they list their videos for sellers. You can subscribe to their channel so you can stay updated on new videos Amazon puts out for Amazon sellers. Watch the videos and become familiar with their seller tips and rules.
Take some time to study the platforms, Tracy recommends taking a week to study them and become familiar with eBay and Amazon. Don’t get overwhelmed, just push through this learning curve. You will build up confidence after you get started and listing products. The first product will be the hardest since you are learning the eBay and Amazon selling platforms.
Tracy reminds us that Amazon wants specifically new products to be sold Amazon FBA. It must be in brand new condition. A package that is dinged up and in bad condition but is still “New”, it won’t pass the Amazon FBA rules.
In the video Entrepreneur Girl goes through the steps of listing a product for sale on eBay. You have up to 12 pictures for a listing for free. Be sure to utilize all 12 pictures since it will help sell the product and the buyer will get a good idea of the condition of the item and will help eliminate possible questions from the buyer.
The eBay listing title is important. Try to think of the keywords related to the product and the words you would use to search for it. The words in the title are used in search results for buyers when they are searching for something specific.
Tracy likes to offer free shipping to her buyers for her eBay items, it helps get the items sold and they typically sell higher.
After you list your first item for sale on eBay you should quickly list more items for sale. If you do that then you will become more comfortable with listing on eBay. If you list just one product and walk away and wait awhile and when you come back at a later time to list another item then you could still be nervous going through the listing process.
Typically when you have a product to list on Amazon it will have a UPC code. You will use that code to find it on Amazon to list it for sale. Once you search for the UPC code when listing a product for sell on Amazon it will pull up a listing and you will start to input your information. For example you will enter in the price, condition new/used, condition note, shipping info if not Amazon FBA etc.. The pictures will already be loaded from the existing listing, they will be professional looking images that meets the Amazon’s guidelines.
Amazon and eBay are totally different selling platforms. Amazon is good to sell the brand new products you get either by wholesale or retail arbitrage. EBay is good for selling the used, vintage, the “new” but not in good condition type items.
