We will be exploring the good and bad of each box store; all while taking an inside peek at the store. This trip was to Ikea in Miami, Florida.
Entrepreneur Girl takes us for a retail arbitrage trip to Ikea. Tracy shows pictures of the types of products they offer and their prices along with the brochure map of the store.
Ikea is a great place to retail arbitrage because they offer different type products that you can’t find anywhere else. Ikea has home furnishings. The items are odd and eccentric. People love the style and the products are made well.
The reason it’s a good retail arbitrage spot to hit is that there are only so many throughout the US. There is only 3 Ikea’s in Florida alone which makes it less accessible to people that are not located near one, unlike Walmart.
So, being that there aren’t many Ikeas and people love Ikea products, people are willing to pay more money for the products when they can’t just go down the street to get it.
Ikea has kids and toy items that are easy to ship. Tracy also shows glasses that are durable and good quality that is extremely cheap.
The thing that is bad about Ikea is the lack of internet/ cell service inside the store. You should research the catalog before going so you know what good sellers are and have a list of what you want to get before going into the store. In essence it will be like online retail arbitrage but you will go to the store after finding the profitable products to resell on Amazon or eBay.
At the end of the video, Tracy shows clips of going around the store so you can see the types of products they offer.
